The SUV is scheduled to make global debut in mid-2021, while launch expected in the end of 2021 or early 2022. Modified Compass Platform

The new Jeep H6 7-seater SUV will be designed and developed on the modified version of the Small Wide 4×4 platform. This platform currently underpins the Compass and the Renegade; however, it will be modified to accommodate longer wheelbase, larger body and for rigidity.

More Powerful Diesel Engine

The new 7-seater Jeep SUV will be powered by the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, which also powers the Compass. However, this engine will be tuned for higher power output. While powering the Compass, this engine produces 173bhp and 350Nm of torque. Global media claims that the 2.0L engine will offer around 200bhp and around 400Nm of torque with the 7-seater SUV. A 9-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox will come as standard. It will also get an all-wheel-drive layout.

Design Inspired By Grand Cherokee

The spy images reveal that the new Jeep 7-seater SUV won’t be a stretched version of the Compass. The SUV will feature all-new design elements and panels, and will be a completely different product. It will share most of its design elements from the new Grand Cherokee. The SUV will have a more upright seven-slat grille, angular LED headlamps, lowered roof line, sharp tailgate and rear bumper. The SUV will be equipped with latest technologies such as automatic braking system, adaptive autopilot, lane assistant and blind spot alert.

Name Reveal On April 4, 2021

The new Jeep H6 won’t be called the Grand Compass, and will carry a new name. It is reported that the SUV will receive a new nameplete on April 4, 2021. For people not in the know, Jeep considers 4th of April as the 4×4 day.

Competition

The new Jeep H6 will be positioned above the Compass SUV. It is likely to be priced around Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh, which will make it a direct rival to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Skoda Kodiaq.
