Hyundai Releases First Images Of The New Kona N Performance-SUV

Korean automaker, Hyundai has revealed a new teaser of the all-new Kona N, which is scheduled to make global debut in the next few days. The new teaser images reveal the design and other details of the brand’s newest model in the high-performance N range.

The Hyundai Kona N will be the latest addition to the Hyundai N brand line-up, and the first N model with an SUV body type. The new Kona N variant features a sporty design, featuring wide and low stance. For the very first time, the Hyundai N division and Hyundai Design Center worked together to develop on an SUV body type, creating a product that clearly represents a powerful presence and driving fun. The SUV features the design elements of the regular Kona along with the N performance body parts.

The front fascia of the Hyundai Kona N features a large, sporty air intakes, and the new light signature gives Hyundai’s latest high-performance model an aggressive, powerful appearance. The SUV gets the bolder cascading grille with N badge. The lower grille has a shape inspired by an aeronautic fuselage and extends to the side of the car.

At the back, the Hyundai Kona N gets a large double-wing roof spoiler for enhanced downforce. The SUV also gets a third, triangular brake light, large N dual exhaust mufflers and a large diffuser lower down on the rear bumper. The sporty look is further emphasised through body-coloured fenders. The Hyundai Kona N features exclusive alloy wheels and red accents that embellish the side sills.

The upcoming Hyundai Kona N will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired to an eight-speed, wet dual-clutch transmission, which company calls the N DCT. This engine can produce up to 275bhp of power and a maximum torque of 353Nm. The SUV will come with a choice of FWD or AWD. The SUV will also feature a Launch Control System, which is more effective in four-wheel-drive cars.
