Jeep 7-Seater SUV Name To Be Revealed On April 4, 2021

It is no secret that Jeep will introduce a new 7-seater SUV based on the Compass SUV in the second half of 2021. According to a new media report, the brand will reveal the name of the upcoming Jeep 7-seater SUV on April 4. For people not in the know, Jeep considers 4th of April as the 4×4 day.

Not just the name of the 7-seater SUV, Jeep will also announce the launch date of the Compass facelift in Brazil. The new models are expected to receive the 1.3L turboflex engine. The 7-seater SUV will be launched in India in the end of 2021 or early 2022. It will be based on the modified version of the Small-Wide 4×4 platform that underpins the Compass and the Renegade.

Jeep SUV imagined as Wagoneer

The company will tweak the platform to accommodate a bigger body. The SUV will have a longer wheelbase to accommodate third row of seats. It will have larger overhangs and wider c-column along with the flatter trunk lid to make room for the third-row of seats.

The front design of the 7-seater Jeep is most likely to share styling cues from the Compass facelift; however, it will have new front fenders and headlights. The biggest change will be made to the rear profile, which has larger rear overhang and flatter rear profile. It will have flatter roof, larger glass house area and completely revised rear three quarter to accommodate third row of seats.

Previous reports suggest that the Jeep 7-seater SUV will share the dashboard design with the new Compass SUV. It will have chrome outline around the AC vents, speakers area, door handles frame and other parts. The SUV will get a larger floating touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, ESP, cruise control, full LED automatic headlamps, connected car tech, powered front seats, etc.

2022 Jeep Compass Facelift

The new Jeep 7-seater SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine that also powers the Compass. While powering the Compass, this engine produces 173bhp and 350Nm. The 7-seater version will receive a twin-turbocharged version of the engine, which is likely to produce close to 200bhp and over 400Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
