Hero MotoCorp has launched its first ever electric scooter, called the Vida V1 in the Indian market. It is available in 2 variants – V1 Plus and V1 Pro – and both comes with different specifications and price tags. The new Hero Vida V1 e-scooter will take on multiple electric scooters including the Ola S1, Ather 450X, TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak. 1. Prices – Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur
The new Hero Vida V1 electric scooter is offered in 2 versions – V1 Plus and V1 Pro – priced at Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Karnataka state government is not giving any subsidies on electric scooters; however, prices of the new Vida V1 costs lesser in Delhi and Rajasthan. It is relatively expensive when compared to some of the other scooters on sale in our market.

2. Battery Options
The Hero Vida V1 is offered with 2 battery packs – a 3.44kWh with V1 Plus and 3.94kWh with V1 Pro. The former is claimed to offer a certified range of 143km, while the V1 Pro can run up to 165km on a single charge. The V1 Pro and the V1 Plus are claimed to achieve 0 to 40kmph speed in just 3.2 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively. Both variants offer a maximum speed of 80kmph.
The electric motor draws power from battery and offers 6kW (8bhp) and 25Nm of torque. However, the continuous power available stands at 5.2bhp.
3. Multiple Ride Modes
As standard, the new Vida V1 offers 3 ride modes – Eco, Ride and Sport. The V1 Pro also comes with a Custom mode, which offers over 100 combinations to suit the riders need. What’s interesting is that the scooter also has limp mode, which reduces the speed to 20kmph on battery capacity less than 10%. The scooter only runs on Eco and Ride with battery capacity under 20%. It also has a SuperSport mode, which activates on over 95% throttle input. This allows quick acceleration during overtakes.
4 Charging Options
The new Vida V1 electric scooter can be charged in 3 different ways. The scooter comes with two removable battery packs, which can be charged in home. It can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 5 hours 15 minutes. The V1 Pro batteries can be charged in home in 5 hour 55 min.
It also comes with portable charging option, which allows one to charge the battery at parking space. With portable charging system, the batteries can be charged from 0 to 80% in 5 hr 55 min or 5 hr 55 min. The electric scooter also supports fast charging, and is claimed to achieve 1.2km range per minute.
5. Can Be Charged At Ather Charging Network
Hero confirms that the new Hero Vida V1 electric scooter can be charged at existing Ather battery charging network. For people not in the know, Hero MotoCorp has invested heavily in the Ather Energy.
