Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler maker has finally entered the electric vehicle space with an all-new electric scooter. Launched under its sub-brand, the Vida, the new e-scooter is called the Hero Vida V1. The new Vida V1 electric scooter is available in 2 variants – V1 Plus & V1 Pro – priced at Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively.
The new Hero Vida V1 e-scooter will be launched in a phased manner and will first go on sale in Bangalore, Delhi and Jaipur. Interested buyers can book the scooter online from October 10, 2022 by paying a token amount of Rs 2,499. Deliveries for the new electric scooter will commence in the second week of December 2022.
The Hero Vida V1 electric scooter comes with simpler looks and dual-tone paint scheme. It has LED headlamps with DRLs mounted lower on the front apron, and sleeker LED turn indicators. There is a black small windscreen at the front covering the smart display. Customers can also customise the scooter design and colours according to their own requirements. The scooter gets LED tail-lights, uniquely styled alloy wheels and grab rails for the pillion.
The scooter has rectangular shaped 7-inch touchscreen display, which appears similar to a smartphone. This instrument console shows several important details starting from speed, time, range, charging time, navigation and others. This electric scooter has keyless control with follow-me function, two way throttle with Boost mode to make quick overtakes and S.O.S alert function.
The Vida V1 electric scooter is offered in two variants – V1 Pro and V1 Plus. The V1 Pro and V1 Plus are claimed to offer a top speed of 80kmph. Both variants support fast charging and are claimed to achieve 1.2km range per minute.
While the V1 Pro is claimed to offer a certified IDC range of 165km on a single charge, the V1 Plus offers a range of 143kms on a single charge. The V1 Pro and the V1 Plus are claimed to achieve 0 to 40kmph speed in just 3.2 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively.
The Vida V1 electric scooter offers 3 riding modes – Eco, Ride and Sport. Adding to it, the scooter comes with customised mode with over 100 combinations depending upon users need. The new Hero Vida V1 will be positioned against the Ola S1, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and the Ather 450X.
