Hyundai’s performance-oriented N Line range is likely to make India debut towards the end of this year. The company might launch the Hyundai i20 N Line hot hatch with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder T-GDI petrol engine. The turbocharged motor has been tuned for generating power worth 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. It will come with two gearbox options – 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT. Compared to the standard model, the i20 N Line will have more refined engine, better suspension and exciting exhaust sound.

The South Korean carmaker is planning to foray into the micro SUV segment with the Hyundai AX1 (codename) sometime next year. The model will be first launched in its home country (South Korea), followed by other markets. The mini SUV might hit Indian roads in early 2022. It’s reported to be designed on the Grand i10 Nios’ K1 platform. Powering the micro SUV could be a 1.1L petrol engine making 68bhp and 96Nm along with the Grand i10 Nios’ 82bhp, 1.2L petrol motor.

The carmaker is also working on a compact MPV that’s rumoured to be named ‘Hyundai Custo’. It will be especially designed and developed for the Asian markets. While China will be the first market to receive the MPV, it will hit Indian shores in 2021 or 2022. The upcoming compact MPV from the South Korean carmaker is likely to be offered with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine delivering power worth 237bhp and 353Nm of torque. It will have an 8-speed automatic gearbox for performing transmission duties.
