Kia Motors had launched the Sonet sub-4 meter SUV in the country on September 18, 2020. The compact SUV has received an overwhelming response from buyers, thanks to its aggressive pricing, modern design, feature-loaded interior and multiple engine-gearbox options. In fact, it becomes the best-selling sub-4 meter SUV by beating the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon.
Kia dealers across India are also offering several customisation options with the Sonet compac SUV to its customers. This is one example of the customised Kia Sonet, which has recently been delivered in the city of Bengaluru. Mr. Prashanth Swaminathan bought this customised all-black Kia Sonet, which looks quite appealing.
The customised Kia Sonet all-black is based on the HTK variant. The steel wheels have been replaced by 16-inch GTR Pro alloy wheels. Adding to it, the car was completely blacked out as Avery Dennison Satin Black vinyl has been used to wrap the sub-4 meter SUV. The chrome parts and brushed aluminium plastic trims are finished in glossy black colour. The treatment seems inspired by the Tata Harrier Black Edition.
The interior pictures are not released, but it is said that the cabin also features all-black theme. This variant is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with six-speed iMT gearbox. It is capable of producing 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. This variant costs Rs 12 lakh on-road Bengaluru, and the entire modification costs around Rs 1 lakh (material sourced by the owner) and the new alloys cost Rs 30,000.
The Kia Sonet is available in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre NA petrol, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5L diesel is available with 6-speed MT and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options, while the 1.0L engine is offered with 3 gearbox options – a 6MT, a 6iMT and 7-speed DCT.
The sub-4 meter SUV is available in two trim levels – Tech Line and GT Line. The petrol version is available in the price bracket of Rs 6.71 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh. On the flip side, the diesel version is priced at Rs 8.05 lakh for the base model and Rs 11.99 lakh for the top-end variant. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
