Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas 6-seater Specs

Tata Motors will launch the long-awaited Gravitas 7-seater SUV in the first quarter of 2021. The new model was earlier planned to be launched during festive season, before Diwali 2020; however, the launch delayed due to Coronavirus Pandemic. Based on the Harrier, the new Gravitas is most likely to be offered in 6 and 7-seat options. The new model will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer. Tata could also introduce the petrol version of the SUV, which is likely to feature a new 1.5-litre turbocharged engine.

Nissan will launch the Magnite sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market in the next 2-3 months, most probably in January 2021. The new model is designed and developed on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A modular platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber. It is rumoured to be priced as low as Rs 5.25 lakh and will come as an affordable alternative to the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and others in its category. The SUV will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine in naturally-aspirated and turbocharged versions. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual, an AMT and a CVT automatic.

Renault Kiger

Codenamed HBC, the Renault Kiger will be launched in the first quarter of 2021. The company will unveil the pre-production version of the compact SUV in November-December 2020. It will be based on the CMF-A modular platform that also underpins the Nissan Magnite. The sub-4 meter SUV will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 95bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will be launched in the first half of 2021, most probably in March-April. The new model will be based on the new front-wheel-drive monocoque platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Ford C-SUV. The new model is rumoured to be equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The new XUV500 will feature more than one petrol engine option. The SUV will be powered by the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the new Thar; however, this engine will offer power up to 190bhp. The SUV will also receive the BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is expected to produce close to 180bhp of power.

Citroen C5 Aircross

PSA Groupe will officially launch its first product, the Citroen C5 Aircross in the first quarter of 2021. It will be brought to India via the CKD route. The new model will be positioned against the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Honda CR-V. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 180bhp. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed torque convertor automatic.
