Renault Megane eVision Previews Future Electric City Car

French automaker, Renault has officially unveiled the Megane eVision Concept, which previews the brand’s future electric vehicles. The production version of the Renault Megane eVision will be launched in 2022. The new model will be developed on the all-new Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-EV modular platform, which also underpins the Nissan Ariya.

The company hatchback is claimed to be equipped with “one of the thinnest batteries on the market and an ultra-compact powertrain that gives an exceptionally roomy interior in a compact footprint”. Renault Megane eVision Specs

In terms of proportions, the Renault Megane eVision is 4,210mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,505mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700mm. The hatchback rides on 20-inch wheels shod with continental 245/40 ZR 20 tyres. It features a 270bhp, 160kw wound-rotor electric motor offering 300Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in less than 8 seconds.

The exterior design of the Megane eVision is inspired from the MORPHOZ concept. The large wheels and raised height gives it a SUV-like profile, while short overhangs and long wheelbase ensure a compact and sporty look. This concept gets flush grilles fitted on the lower part of the front end and on the sides of the vehicle. There are side air scoops on the lower part of the front bumper. It features a sculpted bonnet, vibrant LED Matrix lights and an illuminated Renault logo at the centre.

Other design highlights include floating roof finish in gold colour, sculpted bonnet with two air inlets, 20-inch alloys and LED light strip running the full width of the vehicle. The Renault Megane eVision is finished in a two-tone paint scheme with body work in Slate Grey Matt and a roof in Gold.
