Tata Motors has recently launched the highly rated Zest compact sedan, which is the country’s first diesel car to feature AMT gearbox. Surprisingly, the company has once again started testing the recently launched Zest compact sedan on the Indian roads. If media reports are to be believed, Tata Motors is testing the AMT-equipped version of the petrol-driven Zest.
The Zest petrol model is the compact sedan in its league without an automatic transmission option. The company is betting high on this product, and Tata Motors is leaving no stone unturned to keep the moment. Moreover, the increase in demand for petrol driven cars, thanks to a regular decrease in petrol prices, has forced the maker to bring in the petrol automatic variant of the Zest compact sedan. The diesel AMT has received an excellent response from buyers, and the company is now aiming to increase its petrol sales.
The AMT gearbox makes driving easier, and user can manually or automatically shifts. Moreover, AMT gearboxes are much cheaper than the conventional automatic gearbox. The Zest compact sedan is powered by a newly developed 1.2-litre petrol engine from Tata’s new Revotron engine family. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 89bhp and a peak torque of 140Nm.
