Tata Tiago CNG, Tigor CNG Automatic Variants Coming Soon

Tata Motors has released a new teaser, hinting at the upcoming CNG variants of its popular models with the hashtags #TiagoiCNG and #TigoriCNG. Speculations suggest that both the Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG variants will feature an automatic gearbox, marking them as the first CNG models with automatic transmission in the country.

The automatic variants are anticipated to be based on the top-end XT and XZ+ trims. Similar to their manual counterparts, the Tata Tiago CNG AT and Tigor CNG AT will be equipped with the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 85bhp and 113Nm.

In other developments, Tata Motors is gearing up to expand its electric vehicle (EV) product portfolio by introducing three new electric SUVs – Curvv EV, Harrier EV, and Safari EV. Leaked design patents for the Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV reveal the final design details. Both EVs will be based on their facelifted versions introduced last year. The Harrier EV will feature an ‘.ev’ badge on the lower section of the front door and newly-designed alloy wheels, maintaining a panoramic sunroof similar to their Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterparts.

Inside the cabin, both electric SUVs will have a large touchscreen infotainment system, a new central tunnel with rotary dials for drive modes, a touch panel for AC vents and other functions, and a twin-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, among other features. The Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV will be built on the brand’s new Acti.ev architecture, also utilized in the new Punch EV. Detailed specifications for both EVs are yet to be disclosed, but Tata Motors has confirmed that the upcoming electric SUVs will boast a battery pack ranging between 60kWh and 80kWh, offering a range exceeding 500km.

More details on the upcoming Tata EVs and ICE models are likely to be revealed in near future, stay tuned to IndiaCarNews for fresh updates.
