Tata Punch Micro SUV To Be Unveiled On 4th October 2021

Tata Motors has confirmed that it will unveil its upcoming Punch micro SUV on 4th October 2021. Dealers have already started accepting bookings for the model at token sum ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 21,000. While its official prices will be announced next month, the mini SUV is estimated to cost between Rs 5 lakh – Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). If launched in this price range, the Punch will become the most affordable Tata SUV in the country. It will also be the smallest Tata SUV underpinning Alfa platform, borrowed from the Altroz hatchback. Read – 4 Tata Cars To Get CNG Variants

The carmaker says that the Punch combines “bold SUV design, spacious and comfortable interiors, versatile and spirited performance” in a compact footprint. Similar to the brand’s new breed cars, the upcoming micro SUV will feature the Impact 2.0 design language. Some of its design bits are sourced from the bigger Tata SUVs like Safari and Harrier. The Tata Punch is essentially the production version of the HBX concept, which was previewed at the last year’s Auto Expo.

Tata Punch Launch Date

The final model stays true to the concept. Though, its rear section seems to be slightly toned down. Upfront, the mini SUV features glossy black grille similar to the Nexon. The side profile has been adorned by 16-inch diamond cut, dual-tone alloy wheels, prominent wheel arches, black body cladding and blacked out pillars, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and roof rails. It sports a roof mounted spoiler and connected wrap around LED taillamps at the rear.

The latest teaser reveals that the Punch has dual-tone interior theme with coloured accents on the AC vents. Its digital analogue instrument cluster and dashboard integrated touchscreen infotainment system are borrowed from the Altroz. The micro SUV will also have some class-leading features on offer including traction modes, hill decent control and hill start assist.

Official engine details of the upcoming Tata mini SUV are yet to be revealed. It’s reported to come with the 85bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engines paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
