New Force Gurkha Launching Today – Price Expectations

The long-awaited new Force Gurkha 2021 model will be launched in the Indian market today. The lifestyle SUV, which was unveiled on September 15, will be open for bookings from today onwards. Force Motors has already announced that the deliveries of the new Gurkha will commence from October 15, 2021.

New Force Gurkha Expected Prices

The new Gurkha Lifestyle SUV will be pitted against the top-selling & hugely popular Mahindra Thar SUV, which currently has a waiting period of over 12 months. Force Motors will aim to undercut the new Thar significantly to grab some share in the lifestyle SUV segment. We expect the new Gurkha to price somewhere between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.

Engine Specifications

The new Force Gurkha is powered by a BSVI-compliant version of the 2.6-litre turbo-diesel engine. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this turbo-diesel engine produces 91PS of power and 250Nm of torque. It has been offered with the standard 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system with manual front and rear locking differentials. It also gets front and rear anti-roll bars, and an air-intake snorkel.

As a reference, the Thar lifestyle SUV is powered by a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine that produces 130bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Dimensions & Colour Options

– It measures 4,116mm in length, 1,812mm in width and 2,075mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,400mm. Compared to the previous model, the new Gurkha is 124mm longer, 22mm wider and 20mm taller.

– The new Gurkha is offered in 5 exterior colour options – Green, Orange, Red, White and Grey.

The new Gurkha is offered in dark grey interior scheme, and is available as a 3-door model. It is a 4-seater lifestyle SUV with a pair of captain seats for the second-row. The new model comes with some modern day features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a semi-digital instrument console, manual AC, title & telescopic steering, armrests, etc. The SUV gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), speed alert, a one-touch lane-change indicator, etc.

Based on the updated ladder-frame chassis, the new Gurkha is compliant with new crash test and pedestrian safety norms. The SUV gets LED headlamps with DRLs, new fog lamps, black roof rails with a functional rack, 16-inch steel wheels, and LED stop lamp.
