Tata Motors introduced the new Safari SUV earlier this year. The SUV model lineup has been made available in 7 trims including, XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, XZ+ and Adventure Edition. The Tata Safari Adventure Edition comes with some exclusive features including triangular element on the front grille and roof rails, blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, Tropical Mist exterior colour scheme and dual-tone Brown and White finish.  Now, the company introduced the Tropical Mist blue shade across all variants of the SUV.

Currently, prices of the Tata Safari start at Rs 14.99 lakh and go up to Rs 22.01 lakh. The SUV model lineup includes seven automatic variants, which are priced between Rs 17.80 lakh – Rs 22.01 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Powering the new Safari is the same 2.0L Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine that does duty in the Harrier. The oil burner returns a claimed power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Similar to the Harrier, it comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options.

Besides powertrain, the three-row SUV shares its Omega Arc platform with the 5-seater Harrier. Though, the former is 63mm longer and 80mm taller. Both SUVs have several design elements common. Though, the stepped roof design and larger rear overhand differentiate the Safari from the Harrier. It also has Safari inscription on the silver roof rails, a more upright rear section, a large rear quarter glass and newly-designed taillamps and tailgate. Read – Tata Harrier Vs Mahindra XUV700
