Tata Punch Small SUV Coming Today – 10 Key Details

Tata Punch, the upcoming micro SUV from the home-grown carmaker, will finally make its debut today (4th October 2021). Its official bookings will also be commenced from today and its deliveries are likely to start near around Diwali. In terms of pricing and positioning, the Punch will take on multiple cars right from Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 to the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and the upcoming Citroen C3. It’s estimated to cost from Rs 5 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

Here’re 10 key details we know so far about the upcoming Tata Punch micro SUV.

Tata Punch Features

– The new Tata small SUV will be designed on the Alfa (agile, light, flexible and advanced) architecture that underpins the Altroz hatchback. The platform is claimed to offer ample luggage and storage space around the drive. – The Punch model lineup will come in four trims – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. All variants will be powered by a 1.2L Revotron petrol engine that’s good enough for 85bhp and 113Nm. The mini SUV can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.

Tata Punch Rear

– Similar to the Nexon, the new Tata mini SUV will offer three drive modes – Eco, City and Sport. The AMT variants will be exclusively offered with the segment-first Traction Pro mode. It will also get Dyna Pro technology that will aid to its water wading capacity.

– The official teasers confirm that the Tata Punch will come with the brand’s iRA connected car technology offering 27 connected car features across 5 different categories, namely, remote control, vehicle security, gamification, live vehicle diagnosis and alerts and location based services.

– The Punch will be equipped with the Harman-sourced floating touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The list of features also include a digital analogue instrument cluster, dual-tone dashboard, coloured accents around AC vents, power windows in front, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, engine start-stop button, a flat bottom steering wheel with mounted controls and more.

Tata Punch Safety features

– The Tata Punch will have some segment-first features to offer including hill decent control, hill start assist and traction modes.

– The new Tata micro SUV will come in three monotone colour schemes – White, Grey and Bronze. There will be six dual-tone paints schemes as well including White with Black roof, Stonehenge with Black roof, Grey with Black roof, Blue with White roof, Orange with Black roof and Urban Bronze with Black roof.

– The production-ready mini SUV will measure 3840mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm and 187mm of ground clearance. It will provide luggage space of 366-litres, which is 21-litres more than the Altroz hatchback.

Tata Punch Launch Date

– Design and styling of the Punch is exactly similar to the HBX concept that broke cover at the 2020 Auto Expo. Though, it rear section seems to be tone downed. The micro SUV carries Tata’s Impact 2.0L design language and carries Harrier-inspired projector headlamps. Though, its front grille looks different. The thick black plastic cladding on its lower section along with the pronounced wheel arches and alloy wheels, enhance its SUV-ish looks.

– Similar to the Nexon, the Tata Punch will offer doors with 90-degree angle ensuring easy ingress and egress. At the back, the mini SUV will carry arrow-shaped wraparound taillamps.
