Tata Punch recently went on sale in the country. The micro SUV has been offered in four trims (Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative), which are available within the price range of Rs 5.49 lakh – Rs 9.39 lakh. While the manual variants are priced from Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 8.79 lakh, the AMT models cost between Rs 6.99 lakh – Rs 9.39 lakh. One must note that these are ex-showroom, introductory prices.
Under the hood, the Punch houses a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 86bhp and 113Nm. The mini SUV comes with the 5-speed manual and AMT automatic gearbox options. It gets engine start/stop function. The Punch manual delivers a claimed ARAI mileage of 18.97kmpl and the automatic model promises 18.82kmpl. In terms of fuel economy, the Tata Punch and Nissan Magnite (1.0L naturally aspirated petrol) are almost similar.

The Magnite manual and automatic variants are claimed to return fuel economy of 18.75kmpl and 20.0kmpl respectively. Its 100bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine offers a mileage of 17.7kmpl. Nissan’s subcompact SUV is available with the 5-speed manual (standard) and CVT automatic (optional) gearboxes. The new Tata micro SUV can do 0 to 100kmph in 16.5 seconds. The traction modes are reserved for the AMT variants.

Features such as a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, automatic projector headlamps, LED DRLs (daytime running lamps), 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, puddle lamps and a rear wiper and washer are exclusively offered on the top-end Tata Punch Creative trim. The mini SUV comes in seven colour options, namely, Calypso Red, Orcus White, Meteor Bronze, Tropical Mist, Atomic Orange, Daytona Grey and Tornedo Blue.
The company is offering three customization packs that vary trim-wise. While the Pure and Adventure trims come with the Rhythm pack, the Accomplished and Creative trims can be had with the Dazzle and iRA pack respectively.
