Tata Punch Micro SUV Claims To Offer ‘Absolute Safety’

Tata Motors has released yet another official video of its upcoming Punch micro SUV highlighting its ‘absolute safety’ trait. The mini SUV is ready to go on sale in coming weeks. Here, it will be positioned against the cars like Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100. You must have know that Tata passenger vehicles (including Nexon, Altroz) have secured 5 star safety rating in Global NCAP crash test. While the automaker hasn’t yet revealed safety fitment details of the micro SUV, it’s likely to get dual airbags, rear parking sensors, cornering stability control, ABS with EBD, seat belt pretensioners, seat belt reminders and speed alert system as standard features.

The previous teaser images reveal that the micro SUV could also be offered with the segment-first hill decent control and hill start assist. There might also be the segment-first traction modes – Rock, Mud, Sand and Snow. The upcoming new Tata Punch micro SUV is expected to be made available with two petrol engines. The options might include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Revotron and 1.2L turbocharged gasoline units. While the former pushes out a peak power of 85bhp and 113Nm of torque, the latter (which is borrowed from the Altroz) will offer 100bhp. The carmaker might detune the turbo petrol motor for the Punch. Tata’s new mini SUV can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
