Tata Punch EV Launch By November 2023 – Exter EV Rival

Tata Motors is set to expand its electric vehicle (EV) product portfolio with some significant additions in the coming months. The company has unveiled an EV roadmap that includes the launch of four new electric SUVs by early 2024. The updated Nexon EV is scheduled to be launched in September, followed by the Tata Punch EV in November 2023. The Tata Harrier EV is expected towards the end of this year, and the Tata Curvv EV is anticipated to be introduced in the first quarter of 2024.

The Tata Punch EV, a micro SUV, will be positioned in the electric vehicle market against competitors like the Citroen eC3 and MG Comet in terms of pricing. It will also face competition from the Hyundai Exter EV, currently in its testing phase.

Punch CNG Launch

Like Tata’s other electric vehicles, the Punch EV will feature the Ziptron powertrain, which includes a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a liquid-cooled battery. The power will be transmitted to the front wheels. However, specific details about the battery capacity and electric motor specifications are yet to be disclosed. Speculations suggest that the Punch EV could share its powertrain with the Tiago EV, which offers battery pack options of 19.2kWh with a 74bhp electric motor and 24kWh with a 61bhp electric motor.

Previous spy images indicate that the Tata Punch EV might feature a rotary drive selector and an electronic parking brake. It remains to be seen whether Tata will introduce a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system or opt for a 7.0-inch unit similar to its ICE counterpart. Notably, the EV is expected to feature a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the center and haptic touch controls, similar to the Tata Curvv concept. The Punch EV might also come equipped with a 360-degree camera.
