New Kia Sonet With ADAS Tech & More Features Coming Soon

The upcoming transformation of the Kia Sonet has captured our attention, especially after the recent overhaul of the Kia Seltos SUV. While the official launch timeline is yet to be revealed, it is expected to arrive towards the end of this year or early next year. The new 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is set to receive significant changes inside the cabin. Notably, the Sonet’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) will offer 7-8 features, which is in contrast to the 17 autonomous features present in the ADAS of its sibling, the Seltos. This ADAS suite will be reserved for the top-end trim.

The safety kit of the updated Sonet will also include 6 airbags, vehicle stability management, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is poised to introduce a brand-new dashboard design, complete with an upgraded dual-screen setup. One screen is dedicated to infotainment, while the other serves as the digital instrument cluster. Expectations include an improved user interface and resolution for these screens. Some of the potential enhancements encompass features like a dashboard camera (dashcam) and a 360-degree camera system, similar to the additions introduced in the Hyundai Exter micro SUV.

2022 Kia Sonet features

Set to make its appearance as the 2024 model, the refreshed Kia Sonet will showcase a fresh facade. The grille and headlights are receiving a new look, with daytime running lights (DRLs) extending into the lower bumper region. The bumper itself will undergo adjustments, adding to the revised front view. Along the sides, the new Sonet retains its current appearance but gains a fresh set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Elevating the sporty quotient, the GT variant of the SUV will feature updated alloys complemented by striking red brake calipers. The taillamp cluster has evidently expanded in size, now sporting redesigned LED taillights. The rear bumper also receives its own facelift, featuring a two-tone treatment. An array of new color choices might also grace the refreshed Sonet’s palette.

In terms of its driving power, the new 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is likely to retain its current engine lineup. This includes the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, the 1.0L turbo petrol, and the 1.5L diesel engines. Output figures stand at 83bhp for the 1.2L NA, 120bhp for the 1.0L turbo gasoline, and 115bhp for the diesel motor.
