In February 2023, Tata Motors upgraded its entire product lineup to meet the Bharat Stage 6 Phase-II norms. Besides BS6 II update, the company introduced the idle start/stop function on the Altroz hatchback and Punch model lineup. The Tata Tiago and Tigor received tyre pressure monitoring system. Tata also increased its standard warranty of 2 years/75,000kms to 3 years/1 lakh km across the range.

As mentioned above, the BS6 Phase II complaint Tata engines promise more mileage. The Tata Nexon petrol and diesel, with BS6 Phase II engines, deliver a fuel efficiency of 17.10kmpl and 23.20kmpl (MT)/24.10kmpl (AT) respectively. It’s the Nexon diesel that received a mileage gain of 2.10kmpl (MT) and 2.40kmpl (AT). Mileage of its petrol version is improved by 0.75kmpl. While the Tata Punch returns a claimed mileage of 20.10kmpl, the Altroz petrol and diesel offer 19.30kmpl and 23.60kmpl respectively. While the former is available with a 86bhp, 1.2L petrol engine, the latter can be had with two engines – 110bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol, 86bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 90bhp, 1.5L diesel. The BS6 Phase II compliant Punch and Altroz are 1.13kmpl and 0.70kmpl (MT)/0.60kmpl (AT) are more frugal than their previous versions.

The updated Tiago and Tigor offer a fuel economy of 20.01kmpl and 19.60kmpl respectively (which is up by 1.0kmpl and 0.60kmpl). Both models are offered with the 1.2L petrol engine that’s good for 86bhp. While the Tiago hatchback gained a mileage gain of 1kmpl, the Tigor’s fuel efficiency is improved by 0.60kmpl.
