Tata Motors has raised the prices of the Nexon EV by upto Rs 26,000. The XZ+ and the XZ+ LUX variants have received price hike, while the price for the base XM variant remains the same. The Nexon EV XM variant is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, while the XZ+ and the XZ+ LUX variants are priced at Rs 15.25 lakh and Rs 16.25 lakh respectively.
The Tata Nexon EV was earlier priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh. The new Nexon electric doesn’t have any direct rival; however, it challenges the MG ZS and the Hyundai Kona. In terms of styling, the electric model looks largely identical to the regular variant. In terms of features, the top-spec XZ+ variant gets sunroof, automatic headlamps and wipers, leatherette seats, etc. The base model gets automatic climate control, push-button start, keyless entry and two drive modes (Drive and Sport). The XZ+ variant gets optional dual-tone colour scheme, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rear camera and a leather wrapped steering wheel. The Nexon EV also gets the ZConnect connected car technology that offers 35 features.
The Tata Nexon EV uses a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a 129bhp, permanent magnet AC motor. This electric motor delivers a peak torque of 245Nm. It is claimed to achieve 0 to 100kmph in 9.9 seconds and offer a range of over 312km on a single charge. The battery can be charged up to 80 percent in an hour by using a DC fast charger. It takes 8-9 hours to get fully charged via a standard 15A AC charger.
