New Royal Enfield 650 Cruiser Revealed In Clear Pictures

Royal Enfield has a range of new models in the pipeline, which are slated to launch in coming years. One of them will be a 650cc, twin-cylinder premium cruiser that’s likely to share its underpinning with the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Just so know, the Chennai-based bikemaker previewed the RE KX Concept at the 2019 EICMA Motor Show in Milan, Italy.

While the production-spec of the KX was believed to come with the 834cc engine, the new Royal Enfield 650 cruiser might share its design bits with the concept. Recently, the upcoming RE 650 cruiser was spotted testing in the country. As you can see in the pictures, the prototype features a single front disc brake hinting it’s a medium displacement model. It also carries a low slung profile, circular headlamp, alloy wheels and slender fuel tank.

The alloy wheels and long wheelbase also resemble to the KX concept. Unlike the concept that has a single-piece saddle, the new Royal Enfield 650 cruiser comes with a longer seat to accommodate rider and a pillion rider. Furthermore, the spotted model features an USD fork front suspension instead of the concept-like an unconventional girder type unit.

For power, the new RE 650 cruiser will use a 650cc, twin-cylinder engine borrowed from the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The motor produces a peak power of 46.8bhp and 52Nm of torque. The RE 650 twins come with a 6-speed gearbox. The Royal Enfield KX Bobber concept was powered by an 834cc, air-cooled engine.

The upcoming Royal Enfield 650 cruiser, which is currently in its testing phase, is likely to hit Indian roads in the second half of 2021. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 4 lakh. The company will also introduce the all-new Meteor 350 bike that’s reported to arrive after the 2020 Diwali. The RE Meteor is the new-generation model of the RE Thunderbird 50. The Classic 350 and Bullet 350 motorcycles will also witness a generation change sometime next year.
