Tata Motors has announced that its Nexon EV has achieved 2,000 units sales milestone since its arrival in January, 2020. Last month, the company managed to sell 2,200 units of the electric compact SUV that indicates the high demand for the EVs in the personal car segment. The carmaker rolled out the 1000th Nexon EV in August, which was followed by another 10000 sales in a record time of three months (i.e. September – November 2020). Tata Nexon EV marked debut of the brand’s Ziptron electric powertrain that’s claimed to offer “zippy performance” and long range along with the fast charging capabilities. The electric compact SUV comes with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering an electric motor mounted on the front axle. The latter one has been tuned for generating power worth 129bhp and 245Nm of torque. The Nexon EV can do 0 to 100kmph in a claimed 9.9 seconds.
Its battery can be fully charged via a standard 15A AC charger in around 8-9 hours. A CCS2-compatible DC fast charger takes just an hour to charge the battery up to 80 percent. The electric SUV comes with an energy regeneration function. The company is offering an 8-year/1,60,000km warranty on the motor and battery. Tata Nexon EV has been equipped with several goodies including a 7.0-inch colour MID, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, an eight-speaker Harman-sourced speaker system, a sunroof, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, power windows, keyless entry and go, ZConnect connectivity suite with 35 features, auto headlights and wipers, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, power adjustable and folding mirrors and more.
