German automaker, BMW has launched the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe ‘Black Shadow’ edition in the indian market. The new Black Shadow edition is available in M Sport design scheme and is priced at Rs 42.30 lakh. Locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai, the exclusive edition is available at shop.bmw.in from 7 December 2020 onwards.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow edition is offered in two exterior colors – Alpine White (non-metallic) and Black Sapphire (metallic). The upholstery available is Sensatec Oyster | Black.
The new BMW 2 Seies Gran Coupe Black Shadow edition is based on the 22-d M Sport variant, and features BMW Individual high-gloss shadown line package and M performance parts that costs Rs 2.5 lakh. It features high-gloss black mesh-style front grille, black exterior mirror caps, M performance rear spoiler in high-gloss black, black chrome tail-pipe finishers, 18-inch M Performance Y-Spoke Styling 554 M forged wheels in Jet Black Matt, etc.
Inside the cabin, the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe BLack Edition comes with the driver-focused cockpit and a large panorama glass sunroof. The vehicle gets Sport seats with electrical memory function, large 430-litres boot space that can be expanded by folding down the 40/20/40 split rear seat backrest, ambient lighting with six dimmable designs, a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Gesture Control and Apple CarPlay support.
The Gran Coupe gets six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, ABS with brake assist, dynamic stability control, cornering brake cntrol, electronic parking brake with auto hold, etc. The car has front-wheel-drive architecture, ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation system) works in combination with DSC (Driving Stability Control) to reduce understeering.
Powering the 2 Series Gran Coupe is a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel engine that produces 190bhp of power and a peak torque of 400Nm between 1,750-2,500rpm. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 7.5 seconds. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed steptronic sport automatic gearbox. It comes with Launch Control, steering wheel paddle shifters and cruise control with braking function. The vehicle also has 4 driving modes – Eco, PRO, Comfort and Sport.
