Tata Motors has increased the prices of the Nexon electric SUV, which is currently India’s best-selling EV. The SUV gets expensive by Rs 25,000, and is now priced between Rs 14.54 lakh and Rs 17.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Despite price hike, the Nexon EV is still India’s most affordable electric SUV.
Tata Nexon Electric is currently offered in 5 variants – XM, XZ+, XZ+ Lux, XZ+ Dark and XZ+ Lux Dark. The entry-level XM and XZ+ variants are qualified for the subsidies offered by Maharashtra Government’s EV policy. Customers can avail up to Rs 2.5 lakh benefits including an early bird incentive of Rs 1 lakh. This is valid till March 31, 2022.

Tata Motors is also preparing a long range version of the Nexon Electric, which has already been spotted testing numerous times. It is expected that the new model will be placed above the XZ+ Lux Dark edition, which is priced at Rs 17.15 lakh. We expect the new model to cost around Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh more than the regular model.
Previous reports suggest that a long-range version of the Nexon Electric will be launched by April 2022; However, Tata is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The new model will come with a bigger battery pack along with few mechanical upgrades. The new variant of the Tata Nexon EV is reportedly to come with a larger 40kWh battery pack. The outgoing model comes with a 30.2kWh battery pack, and is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified range of 312km. The larger battery pack is expected to deliver a range of over 400km.
