Yamaha R15S V3 In 2 New Colours To Launch On 11th April – Report

According to a fresh media report, Yamaha Motor Company will soon introduce two new colour schemes to its R15S V3 model lineup. The bike will receive Dark Knight Black and Red paint jobs. Official announcement on the same is reported to be made on 11th April 2022. At present, the Yamaha R15S V3 comes in Racing Blue shade that costs Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom). No other changes are likely to be made to the new colour models.

The Yamaha R15S V3, which is essentially the old-generation model with a single-seat, will continue to come with the 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve, FI engine. It’s the same motor that powers the new Yamaha R15 V4 and the Yamaha R15M. Though, the power figures are different. In the R15S, the engine makes a top power of 18.6PS and 14.1Nm of peak torque. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox in all the three bikes.

On the feature front, the new Yamaha R15S V3 offers a multi-function LCD instrument cluster with gear shift indicator, side stand with engine cut-off switch, assist and slipper clutch, aluminum swingarm and dual-channel ABS(anti-lock braking system). The model has been designed on a deltabox frame.

In other updates, the Japanese two-wheeler maker plans to launch new premium bikes and scooters ranging between 150cc-250cc and 125cc-150cc respectively. Yamaha also aims to tap the growing electric two-wheeler market in coming years. Though, the final decision on the same is yet to be taken. Recently, the company unveiled the Yamaha Neo’s electric scooter for the global markets.

The Neo’s has a swappable lithium-ion battery pack along with the telescopic fork and front disc brakes. It’s claimed to deliver performance equivalent to its ICE-powered Neo 55cc scooter. The Neo’s shares its design elements and components with the Yamaha E02 concept that broke cover at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.
