The Toyota Mirai is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell battery pack and is capable of providing a range up to 650km in a single charge. In fact, the refuelling time is just 5 minutes.

Nitin Gadkari believes that the introduction & adoption of technology to tap into the green hydrogen’s potential will play a key role in securing a clean and affordable energy future for India.

Toyota said that “tt is also necessary to work in collaboration with various stakeholders including government, testing & research agencies, and industry associations. We have entered into an MoU with the Government automotive testing agency, iCAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology), to study and evaluate the world’s most advanced fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) Mirai which runs on hydrogen, on Indian roads and climatic conditions.

The 4-door sedan delivers a claimed range of 502km under the U.S EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) cycle, thus making it the most fuel efficient HFCV. The Mirai was first launched in Japan, followed by U.S, UK and other European markets. Now, one of its units has arrived in India.
