Tata Nexon CNG Launching Soon – Key Details, Spy Images

With the increasing demand of CNG vehicles, car manufacturers are planning to expand their CNG range including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Tata and Toyota. The Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to roll out the new Maruti Brezza CNG, Baleno CNG and Swift CNG along with three new CNG variants of the Ertiga MPV. Hyundai and Kia are reported to be working on the CNG version of the Venue and Sonet SUVs respectively. While Tata will bring in the Nexon CNG, the Japanese carmaker will introduce the Toyota Glanza with the factory fitted CNG kit.

Recently, the Tata Nexon CNG was caught on camera during its test rounds in the country. The model is likely to come with the 1.2L Revotron turbo petrol engine and two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and an AMT. Compared to the regular gasoline unit that’s good for 120bhp and 170Nm, the SUV’s CNG version is expected to be 15bhp less powerful. Though, it could be high on fuel efficiency. The CNG kit is likely to eat up lots of boot space. No other changes are expected to be made to the Tata Nexon CNG variant.

Talking about Tata’s future plan, the company has planned a range of new models including SUVs and EVs. The lineup will include the Tata Curvv concept based EV, Tata Avinya concept based EV, Tata Sierra EV and Punch EV.
