2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Power Figures, Off-Road Features Revealed

The all-new Mahindra Scorpio N is all set to go on sale on 27th June with its official price announcement. Ahead of its market launch, the carmaker has confirmed that the SUV will be made available with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine options. While the gasoline unit is reported to deliver power worth 200PS with 380Nm, the oil burner will offer 132PS with 300Nm on lower variants and 175PS with up to 400Nm on higher trims.

In order to enhance its off-road performance, the carmaker will equip the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N with the shift-on-fly 4WD system with low and high range gearbox, mechanical rear locking, off-road modes (mud, sand, grass and snow) and front brake locking differentials. Interestingly, the 4X4 variant of the SUV will be named – Mahindra Scorpio N 4Xplor. It will get RWD (rear-wheel drive) system as standard along with the optional 4WD (with both petrol and diesel engines).

Talking about transmission options, the new Scorpio N can be had with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. One must note that the automatic unit will be reserved for the turbo-petrol and 175PS diesel variants. For performing suspension duties, the SUV will have front independent unit and penta-link at the rear. It will have FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) dampers as we have seen in the XUV700.

Mahindra will pack the new Scorpio N with goodies such as a 12-speaker Sony sound system, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charging, connected car tech with built-in Alexa support, a 360 degree camera, an electric sunroof, powered driver’s seat, dual zone climate control, multiple airbags and more. The new-generation model will be bigger than the existing Scorpio that will be retailed as Mahindra Scorpio Classic.
