With such impressive sales figures, Tata Motors retained the third spot in the list of India’s top carmakers in September, 2020. The other home-grown carmaker, Mahindra & Mahindra lost the fourth position with Kia Motors that registered total sales of 18,676 units. The newly-launched Sonet and Seltos helped Kia record 141 per cent of growth as compared to the same month of last year.

Nexon Sunroof

Talking about Tata’s future plan, the company is gearing up to launch the turbo-petrol version of the Altroz premium hatchback in coming months. As per the leaked information, the new Tata Altroz turbo will come with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor pushing out 108bhp with 140Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox will perform the transmission duties. The new model might also come with the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Recently, Tata trademarked Camo and Dark editions of its existing models including the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Nexon and Harrier. Official launch timeline of these special editions are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. The Tata Harrier-based 6/7-seater SUV will be the first big launch from the home-grown carmaker next year. Called the Tata Gravitas, the bigger SUV will share most of its design bits, features and powertrain with the Harrier. Though, it will look slightly different and have some extra features and cabin space to offer.
