Tata Harrier, Honda Civic, Mahindra XUV300 – March 2019 Sales Report

The new Honda Civic sedan accounts for over 80% of total segment sales.

In the first quarter of 2019, we have witnessed the launch of some exciting new models. While Honda Civic make a re-entry in our market, Tata Motors and Mahindra entered into new segments with Harrier and the XUV300. All 3 models are receiving excellent response from car buyers. In terms of sales number, Tata had delivered over 2,400 units of the Harrier in March 2019.

Tata had sold 2,492 units of the Harrier in March, which is higher than the Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500. While 1,441 units of Compass were sold, Mahindra delivered 1,916 units of the XUV500. Nissan’s newest SUV – Kicks only manages to attract 701 customers in March 2019. The Hyundai Creta remains the best-selling SUV in its category with 11,448 units sold last month.

The 2019 Honda Civic has received an overwhelming response from buyers. The company had delivered 2,291 units of the sedan in March 2019. What’s more fascinating is that the new Civic accounts for over 80% of total segment sales. The Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia total sales stand at 580 units.

Talking about the sub-4 meter SUV segment, the Maruti Vitara Brezza maintains its lead over the competition. The SUV has achieved impressive sales of 14,181 units in March. The Nexon, the second best-seller records 5,616 units, while the Mahindra XUV300 sales number stands at 4,742 units. Ford delivered 4,241 units of the EcoSport in March 2019.
