Upfront, the new Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV concepts are likely to feature an illuminated ‘T’ logo stretching across their rear. It’s the new signature moniker of Tata Motor’s EV division – Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEML). The company’s Born Electric platform has been designed from inside out with focus on the interior. Interior of both EV concepts are still under the wraps. Though, we expect to it be a lounge-like layout with modern features, full connectivity and autonomous aids.

Tata’s dedicated electric architecture is said to be free from the packaging and design constraints of an IC engine-based platform. Just so you know, the ICE-powered Harrier and Safari SUVs underpin Omega Arc platform that’s difficult to electrify. It’s essentially Land Rover’s D8 architecture. If reports are to be believed, the production version of the Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV might hit roads in early 2025. Read – Tata Altroz Sport (i20 N-Line Rival) To Debut at 2023 Auto Expo

The home-grown carmaker has already revealed its three-platform EV strategy that will cover the entire EV space till 2030. These architectures include a converted ICE (internal combustion engine) platform, a bespoke EV platform (Sigma/Gen 2) and a skateboard (Born Electric/Gen 3). While Sigma platform will be used for the upcoming Altroz EV, Punch EV and Sierra EV, the skateboard-based cars will include the next generation of the Tata EVs.
