Tata Harrier 7-Seater To Be Named ‘ Tata Buzzard’?
Tata Buzzard 7-seater SUV will hit Indian roads by the end of this year.
Tata Motors recently confirmed that it will unveil Altroz premium hatchback (based on 45X concept) and an all-new electric vehicle at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. The carmaker will also showcase two more new models that could be the 7-seater version of the Tata Harrier (codenamed H7X) and a new micro SUV (Tata Hornbill).
According to Financial Express, the Tata Harrier 7-seater model will be named ‘Tata Buzzard’. However, there is no official word on the same. The home-grown carmaker has confirmed that the 7-seater version of the SUV will hit Indian shores by the end of this year. It will be positioned against the Honda CR-V and the upcoming MG Hector 7-seater.
Just like the 5-seater model, the Tata Buzzard will be based on the OMEGA platform and carry the new-generation Impact Design 2.0 language. Though, the SUV’s bigger version will have an addition third two of seats to accommodate two more passengers. Compared to the Harrier, the Tata Buzzard will carry slightly different design and styling bits. Under the hood, the 7-seater SUV will feature the same 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine that powers the Harrier. However, the carmaker will tune the oil burner for generating power worth 170bhp against 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
