Tata Curvv SUV Closer To Launch – All Details We Know So Far

Tata Motors is on a roll, with recent updates to its four popular SUVs – Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari. The indigenous automaker also has a slew of new models in the pipeline, set to hit the market in the coming months. The electric version of the Punch mini SUV is scheduled to arrive before the end of 2023, while the Curvv EV is set to hit the roads in the first half of 2024. Both of these upcoming models are in the final testing phase and have been caught on camera multiple times.

One of the noteworthy revelations about the Tata Curvv coupe SUV is the inclusion of flush-type door handles, a first for a Tata production model. Recent spy images showcase the SUV’s coupe-like roofline, newly designed alloy wheels, LED taillamps, and a tall tailgate. The final version of the Curvv is expected to remain faithful to the concept seen at this year’s Auto Expo. The SUV will retain signature design elements, including the front grille, vertically positioned headlamps with full-width LED DRLs, a sculpted hood, and an LED strip at the rear.

The interior is likely to resemble the concept, featuring a new, large infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The Curvv is expected to offer a range of features, including an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, and Isofix child seat mounts.

The Tata Curvv will initially be offered with an electric powertrain, to be followed by an internal combustion engine (ICE) version. Based on Tata’s Gen2 Platform, the Curvv electric is projected to deliver a range of up to 500 kilometers, although specific specifications are yet to be revealed.

The ICE version of the SUV will introduce Tata’s new 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine, capable of producing 125PS and 225Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be available, with an expected 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, similar to the one featured in the new Nexon.
