The much-awaited new gen Royal Enfield Himalayan will make its global debut on November 7, 2023. New Chassis

The new RE Himalayan 452 dual-purpose adventure motorcycle is based on an all-new chassis. Royal Enfield reveals that the new adventure bike has not used even a single bold from the old bike. The company claims that it has used the past experience to develop this version of single-cylinder adventure tourer. Almost all the components including the switchgear are all-new.

Powerful Liquid-Cooled Engine

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 employs the brand’s first liquid-cooled engine, called the Sherpa 450. This 452cc single-cylinder engine with DOHC setup is capable of producing 40bhp of power and 40Nm of torque. The power-to-weight ratio is significantly higher than the Himalayan 411, and RE has ensured much wider torque spread.

Not just the liquid-cooled engine, the Himalayan 452 also comes with a 6-speed gearbox. The 6th gear will improve the high-speed touring capabilities of the motorcycle.

USD Front Forks

The Himalayan 452 is the second Royal Enfield, after Super Meteor 650, to feature USD front forks. The Showa Forks are known for offering better handling and improves the overall structural rigidity. It gets an adjustable mono-shock rear suspension setup.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 dual-purpose adventure motorcycle comes equipped with a new circular TFT instrument screen. This is a bigger unit, which is compatible with Google Maps, telephony controls, music controls, compass and others. The instrument console also supports connected car tech, with smartphone application. There are additional buttons on the handlebar to control the instrumentation.

Design Details

The new Royal Enfield 452 dual-purpose adventure motorcycle comes with LED lighting system, which includes LED tail-lights, LED turn indicators and LED headlights. The adventure bike gets round-shaped headlamps, which look identical to the Super Meteor 650. The company is also likely to offer auxiliary lights as an accessory. The motorcycle comes with a tall windscreen, an upright handlebar, a bigger fuel tank and comfortable seating option. The RE also offers multiple provision to accommodate luggage including the front & rear frame for saddle bags and jerry cans, and a built-in luggage rack.

The new Himalayan is available in 5 different colours – White with decals, off-white, Nardo Grey with Blue stripes, Nardo Grey with Red stripes and Black with Gold highlights. 

Off-road credentials

The new RE Himalayan 452 comes with several off-road features. It features a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, CEAT’s dual-purpose tubed tyres, long travel for both suspensions, switchable anti-lock braking system (ABS), and a large beak to protect front end on landings. The motorcycle gets upswept exhaust setup and off-road pegs for upright posture.
