Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition Leaked; Launch Date

The Volkswagen Taigun, the mid-size SUV from the German automaker, has completed two successful years in the country. Despite stiff competition from vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos, Volkswagen has strived to boost its sales. Earlier this year, the company introduced new trims, colors, and special editions for the Taigun. Now, VW is set to launch the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition on November 2, 2023. Leaked images have provided a sneak peek into its distinctive features.

The forthcoming Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition boasts 17-inch black alloy wheels with eye-catching red brake calipers. Notable design elements include functional roof bars, black ORVMs with red accents, a black roof, black door garnish, fresh body graphics, decals on the rear fenders, and a ‘Trail’ badge on the tailgate, setting it apart from the standard model. This special edition will be offered in two striking paint schemes – Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte.

The interior layout and features of the Taigun Trail Edition will remain consistent with the existing model. However, black leatherette seats featuring Wild Cherry Red stitching and ‘Trail’ motifs will add distinction to its portfolio. Additional enhancements include red ambient lighting and aluminum pedals.

Since the Taigun Trail Edition is based on the top-end trim, it will offer a wide array of features, such as ventilated front seats with leather inserts, an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVM, an electric sunroof, a tire pressure monitoring system, Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), an engine start-stop button, and cruise control.

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition will house a 1.5L petrol engine generating 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox to suit their driving preferences.
