Tata Curvv Electric SUV – Expected Range & Features

Tata Motors has officially announced the impending launch of the Curvv mid-size SUV coupe in the first quarter of 2024. The initial release will feature an electric powertrain, paving the way for subsequent introductions of its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) iterations. Earlier this year, the automotive world caught a glimpse of the Tata Curvv EV concept, and a series of spy images and videos have since unveiled captivating details about the vehicle.

The electric coupe SUV will be built upon Tata’s Generation 2 EV architecture, designed to accommodate various body styles and powertrains. This Gen 2 platform represents a substantial modification of Tata’s existing architecture, enabling the incorporation of larger batteries, a dual motor setup, and an AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system.

Tata Curvv Launch Date

Recent revelations from the indigenous automaker indicate that electric cars based on both Gen 1 and Gen 2 platforms will boast an impressive range of over 500km on a full charge. Tata envisions that these high-range EVs will fuel short to medium-term sales growth, with long-term profitability contingent on the widespread availability of charging infrastructure. To address this, Tata is committed to expanding its charging station network nationwide, including the installation of charging points at the fuel outlets of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on highways.

The forthcoming Tata Curvv petrol version, set to debut at a later stage, will introduce the brand’s new 1.2L T-GDi petrol engine. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), this powerplant is expected to deliver a formidable 125PS of maximum power and 225Nm of torque.

The standout feature, however, is the inclusion of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), encompassing adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, and more.
