Tata Altroz prices have been increased by the carmaker in the country. The premium hatchback has witnessed a price hike ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 54,000. Now, the base XE petrol variant comes with a price tag of Rs 5.44 lakh and the top-end XZ Urban variant is priced at Rs 7.89 lakh.
Prices of the Altroz diesel range from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The home-grown carmaker has also announced a price hike for the Nexon subcompact SUV.

At present, the Tata Altroz is available with two BS6-compliant engines – a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5L diesel. While the former makes power worth 86bhp with 113Nm of torque, the latter delivers 90bhp against 200Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox performs transmission duties.
In coming months, the company will add a new automatic variant to the Altroz premium hatchback lineup. It will come with the Punch-sourced 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The hatch will also receive a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 99bhp and 141Nm.

The company has already confirmed that it will bring in the electric iteration of the Altroz premium hatchback sometime next year. The model was previewed in its concept form at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, followed by its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. Powering the Altroz EV will be Tata’s new Ziptron electric technology that also does duty in the Nexon EV. Though, its battery pack capacity and power output might be different.
In other news, Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Harrier petrol and Gravitas 6/7-seater SUV. While the petrol version of the Harrier is reported to see a release during this year’s festive season, the Gravitas’ launch might take place sometime next year. Earlier, the new Tata 6/7-seater SUV was slated to hit roads during 2020 Diwali season. One must note that there is no official word on their launch timeline.
