Tata Altroz DCT Automatic To Offer More Features – Report

Tata Altroz DCT automatic will be the next big launch from the home-grown automaker in the country. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, the model is likely to see a release in coming days. Customers can pre-book the vehicle by paying an initial sum of Rs 21,000. The automaker has already confirmed that the DCT (DCA as Tata calls it) will be offered in three trims – XT, XZ and XZ+. All variants will be powered by a 86bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine and get a new Blue colour scheme. Read – Tata Nexon, Harrier Might Soon Get 3 New Features

According to a fresh media report, the Altroz’s new DCT automatic variant will have some extra features on-board. It will come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system with bezel surround. While the lower trims will continue to feature the 7.0-inch infotainment unit, the higher trims will get the bigger one. The Tata Altroz DCT automatic will also be available in the Dark Edition lineup. No changes are likely to be made to its design.

The Tata Altroz DCT automatic will face challenge from cars like Hyundai i20 DCT, the newly-launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno AMT and Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI automatic. It will surely be more expensive than its manual counterparts. At present, the hatchback model lineup is available in 7 variants – XE, XE+, XM+, XT, XZ, XZ (O) and XZ+ – which are priced from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.69 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

In other updates, the home-grown automaker is planning to expand the Tata Harrier and Safari SUV model lineup with new petrol variants. If reports are to be believed, the SUVs’ petrol version will use a 1.5L or 1.6L turbocharged DI motor delivering power close to 160bhp with 250Nm. The automaker might also equip the Harrier and Safari with features such as wireless charging system, ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and a 360 degree camera.
