Tata Motors is ready to roll out the new Dark Edition of the Nexon, Nexon EV and Altroz premium hatchback in coming days. Ahead of their official price announcement, the models have started arriving at dealerships. Bookings for the upcoming Tata Dark Editions have already been commenced at dealership level. Painted in gloss black shade, the Tata Altroz Dark Edition carries ‘Dark’ emblem on the front fender and badges in matte black finish. The black-coloured dual-tone alloy wheels, black skid plates and ORVMs add more to its sporty looks. Unlike the standard model that comes with the grey interior theme, the Dark Edition has blacked out scheme with piano black finish on dashboard.
Inside, the Tata Altroz Dark Edition comes with blacked out interiors that does look more premium than the standard grey cabin. Several elements are now finished in piano-black including the gloss panel on the dashboard. More recently, the automaker updated the Altroz by removing physical buttons for the infotainment system. Similar to the regular models, the Altroz Dark Edition will come with the 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines making 108bhp with 140Nm and 89bhp with 200Nm respectively. A 5-speed manual gearbox will continue to perform transmission duties.
The Dark Edition is likely to be based on the mid and top-end variants and estimated to cost around Rs 20,000 – Rs 30,000 premium over their standard counterparts. Prices of Altroz petrol start from Rs 5.79 lakh (for the XE variant) and go up to Rs 9.05 (for the XZ+ turbo). The diesel models are available within the price range of Rs 6.99 lakh – Rs 9.55 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
