Skoda Slavia Sedan Launch & Deliveries Details Out

Skoda Auto on a roll. The automaker recently entered into the mid-size SUV segment with the Skoda Kushaq that has been doing good in terms of sales. Now, the company is ready to launch the Slavia mid-size sedan and updated Kodiaq 7-seater SUV in the first half of 2022. Official bookings of the Skoda Slavia have already been commenced at a token sum of Rs 11,000. The model will arrive at showrooms in March 2022 and its deliveries will start in the month of April. Here, it will be positioned against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

Based on the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform, the upcoming Slavia sedan looks completely different from its replacement – Skoda Rapid. It’s bigger, more spacious and feature loaded than its replacement. The new Skoda sedan measures 4541mm in length, 1752mm in width and 1487mm in height. Compared to the Rapid, its 128mm longer, 53mm wider and 21mm taller. In fact, its wheelbase has been increased by 99mm. The Slavia is likely to offer the best-in-class boot space of 520-litres.

On the feature front, the Slavia offers a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette upholstery, connected car tech, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, 6-speakers premium audio system, 6 airbags, cruise control, multi collision brake, rear parking camera, auto wipers, auto headlamps, the signature Skoda grille, sharp body creases, coupe-like roof with a faux spoiler.

Under the hood, the Skoda Slavia will carry the same engines that do duty in the Kushaq SUV. The 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI petrol motor delivers a claimed power of 115bhp and comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options. The bigger capacity 1.5L TSI petrol motor makes a top power of 150bhp and 250Nm of torque. It will be paired to a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
