Skoda Slavia, the newly-launched mid-size SUV from the Czech automaker, comes in eight variants priced between Rs 10.69 lakh – Rs 17.79 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The model lineup is available with two TSI petrol engines – 1.0L, 3-cylinder (115bhp/175Nm) and 1.5L, 4-cylinder (148bhp/250Nm) – and three gearbox options – 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic. Now, the automaker has revealed mileage figures of both motors.
The smaller capacity petrol unit with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission deliver 19.47kmpl and 18.07kmpl respectively. The 1.5L gasoline motor returns a claimed fuel economy of 18.72kmpl with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 18.41kmpl with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The Skoda Slavia sedan has been built on the Volkswagen Group’s heavily localised MQB-A0-IN platform that also underpins the Kushaq and Taigun mid-size SUVs. It has the longest wheelbase in the segment, measuring 2651mm. The new Skoda sedan is 4541mm long, 1752mm wide, 1487mm tall and has a ground clearance of 179mm.
Features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, connected car tech, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, rear AC vents, a wireless charger, a rear centre armrest are reserved for the range-topping Style trim. The sedan also gets a free-standing 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, dual-tone beige and black interior theme. It’s safety kit includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitor and an electronic differential system (EDS).
In fresh updates, the Czech automaker is considering a sub-4 metre SUV and a new three-row SUV for the Indian market. Final decision, however, is yet to be taken by the automaker. As of now, there are no official details on the upcoming models. The company has already announced its plan to enter into the electric vehicle (EV) segment in coming years.
