The new MG ZS EV facelift is ready to hit roads on 7th March 2022. Unofficial bookings for the model have already been commenced at a token sum of Rs 50,000. According to a latest media report, the electric SUV will receive two new colour schemes – Black and Grey along with the regular Red and White shades. Interestingly, the company will remove the signature Blue paint scheme from the 2022 MG ZS EV model lineup.
This time around, the ZS EV will be offered in a full-loaded Exclusive trim that’s expected to be priced slightly premium than the existing variant. The latter one is currently available at Rs 25.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV’s new model will continue to take on the Hyundai Kona EV.
Major update will be made to its powertrain. The new 2022 MG ZS EV facelift will come with the bigger 50.3kWh battery pack instead of the existing 44kWh unit. The battery pack will be coupled to a 143PS electric motor delivering a claimed range of 419km on a single charge.
The automaker will make a few significant updates in terms of design and features. The new ZS EV will borrow some of its fitments from the Astor SUV including a bigger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display and a 360 degree camera. The electric SUV will have select ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) functionalities such as rear parking assist and blind spot warning.
In order to improve the comfort quotient of the rear seat occupants, the automaker will offer rear AC vents and centre armrest. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, cruise control, automatic climate control, a powered driver’s seat and auto headlamps and wipers will be carried forward from the current model.
