Skoda Slavia Interior Revealed Via Official Sketch – City Rival

Skoda Auto is all set to unveil its upcoming new sedan on 18th November 2021 in India. Called the Skoda Slavia, the premium mid-size sedan will come as a replacement to the Rapid and take on the cars like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City. Ahead of its global debut, the automaker has released the teaser sketches of its exterior and interior revealing interesting details. Similar to the Kushaq SUV, the Slavia sedan underpins the locally developed and manufactured MQB-A0-IN platform.

The latest teaser image confirms that the Skoda Slavia features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a digital instrument cluster placed behind the two-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It also gets distinctive, round air vents, a horizontal decorative trim strip in a contrasting colour and embossed wordmarks on the binnacle.

Save for the Honda City, the new Skoda sedan is longer and taller than the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. The sedan is expected to offer spacious interior and the class-leading boot space. The top-end variants could be exclusively offered with the sunroof.

The upcoming Skoda Slavia sedan will be made available with two petrol engines – 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged and 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged units. While the small capacity gasoline motor makes a top power of 115PS and 175Nm of torque, the larger capacity engine pushes out a peak power of 150PS and 250Nm of torque. The sedan will come with three gearbox options including a 6-speed manual gearbox (standard), a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (with 1.0L petrol only) and a 7-speed DSG automatic (with 1.5L petrol only).

The Skoda Slavia India launch will take place in the first half of 2022. Being a premium sedan, it’s expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh for the base model to Rs 16 lakh for the top-end variant.
