Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Could Be the Most Affordable RE Bike

Royal Enfield has been testing its upcoming new Hunter 350 motorcycle for a while and we have seen multiple spy images and videos till date. If reports are to be believed, it will be the most affordable RE bike in the country. The latest spy video shows the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 with minimal camouflage revealing its new features and design details. After the RE Meteor 350 and new Classic 350, it will be the company’s third model to be designed on the ‘J’ platform. Royal Enfield’s new architecture is claimed to offer straight-line stability and cornering without compromising on comfort.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter could be significantly lighter than its other 350cc sibling – Classic and Meteor. With the lightweight body-built, it’s expected to offer higher cruising speed and peppier performance. However, the bike will come with the 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine featuring OHC layout. It’s the same motor that does duty in the RE Meteor 350. Its power and torque figures stand at 20.2bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm at 4000rpm. The bike will have a 6-speed gearbox to perform transmission duties.

One can notice the circular headlamp with chrome bezel and short front mudguard enhancing its retro appearance. Unlike the Meteor 350 that has forward-set footpegs, the RE Hunter 350 gets centre positioned units. In fact, the latter one carries a teardrop shaped fuel tank, a single piece seat with a pillion backrest, shorter front and rear fenders and a round taillamp. Its other key highlights include a set of flatter handlebar, engine sump guard, an upswept exhaust and fork gaiters.

In terms of features, the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will offer a semi digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer. The bike’s production-ready version is likely to get the tripper navigation as an option.

Price of the new RE Hunter 350 is likely to be around Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Its launch might happen sometime next year. Once launched, the Hunter will take on the Honda CB 350 RS.
