We informed you earlier that Skoda will introduce the new top-spec Kushaq 1.5L DSG variant in October 2021. However, the launch has been delayed. Skoda Auto India official twitter handle in a reply said that the new variant will be launched in the first half of November and deliveries will commence by the end of November 2021.
The new top-spec model will be equipped with 6 airbags and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). The current 1.5 DSG variant comes with dual airbags, and it misses out on tyre pressure monitoring system. The new variant is introduced after customer feedback. It will be based on the style variant, and this new variant will cost Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Skoda Kushaq 1.5L is only offered in the Style trim with manual and DSG automatic gearbox option. This engine is the same unit that powers the VW Taigun and the T-ROC. It is capable of producing 150bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The new Kushaq is also offered with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The smaller capacity gasoline motor is capable of producing 115bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The new Skoda Kushaq mid-sized SUV is available in three trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style. It is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh. The SUV directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and the MG Astor.
