Skoda Kushaq Style Dual Airbags Variants Removed From SUV Lineup

Skoda Auto has silently removed the Style variant with dual airbags from the Kushaq SUV model lineup. Now, the range-topping Style automatic variants are available with the standard 6 airbags. The compact SUV witnessed a safety feature rejig in September 2021. One must note that the new update will be available in all MY22 units. Recently, the automaker removed the auto-folding ORVMs on all trims of the Skoda Kushaq along with increased its prices.

No other changes have been made to the Kushaq Style trim. It continues to come with the single-pane sunroof, wireless phone charger, 6-speaker sound system with subwoofer, black and grey leatherette rear seats, ventilated front seats with black and grey leather upholstery, auto dimming IRVMs, leather upholstery, keyless entry with push button start, tyre pressuring monitoring system, anti theft alarm, auto headlamp and wipers, Follow-me-home headlamps, window and trunk chrome garnish, gloss black finish on B-pillar and C-pillar, door handles with chrome inserts and full LED taillamps.

The Skoda Kushaq is being offered with two engine options – 1.0 litre TSI and the 1.5 litre TSI. The base Active trim is solely available with a 1.0 litre TSI petrol manual combination. The 1.5 litre TSI engine, with both manual and automatic gearbox, is exclusively offered on the top-end Style trim. The Style is the only trim to be available with all the powertrain options.

Meanwhile, Skoda is gearing up to launch the new Slavia mid-size sedan in early March 2022. The model lineup will come in Active, Ambition and Style trims, packed with the 1.0L petrol (115bhp/175Nm) and 1.5L petrol (150bhp/250Nm) engines. There will be three gearboxes on offer – 6-speed manual (standard), 6-speed torque convertor automatic (for 1.0L variants only) and 7-speed DCT automatic (for 1.5L variants only). Sitting on the segment’s longest wheelbase, the Skoda Slavia will take on Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
