Skoda Slavia Reaches Showrooms; Deliveries To Begin Soon

Skoda Slavia mid-size sedan has finally reached at all Skoda dealerships across the nation. Bookings for the vehicle have already underway, while its test drives and deliveries will begin in early March 2022. The Slavia is the second model from the company under its 2.0 project and designed on Made-for-India MQB-A0-IN platform. The sedan model lineup will come in three trims, namely, Active, Ambition and Style. The automaker has confirmed that the Slavia will be offered with two turbocharged petrol engine options.

There will be a 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol motor delivering a claimed power of 115bhp and 175Nm of torque. It can also be had with a more powerful 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol unit that’s good enough for 150bhp and 250Nm. Both motors will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission will be reserved for the 1.0L variants, while a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox will be available with 1.5L variants only.

Measuring around 1752mm in width, the Skoda Slavia is the widest vehicle in its segment. The carmaker says that it will offer “class-leading space and comfort for five in its generous cabin”. Its rear seats with dual AC vents and dual USB ports are claimed to provide decent space and comfort. The sedan has been equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting the latest smartphone connectivity and navigation. On the safety front, the new Skoda sedan offers protection of 6 airbags along with the anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), Isofix anchors, multi collision brake, a rear parking camera, hill hold control (optional), tyre monitoring system, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.

Prices of the new Skoda Slavia are estimated to start from Rs 10 lakh and go up to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Here, it will take on the cars like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the upcoming Toyota Belta and Volkswagen Virtus.
