The Czech automaker marked its entry into the mid-size SUV segment with the Skoda Kushaq in June 2021. It comes in three trims (Active, Ambition and Style) and two petrol engine options – 1.0L turbo and 1.5L turbo. While the smaller capacity unit makes 115bhp with 178Nm, the latter one returns 150bhp and 250Nm. There are three gearboxes on offer – 6-speed manual (1.0L only), 6-speed torque convertor automatic (1.0L only) and 7-speed DSG automatic (1.5L only).
At present, the entry-level Kushaq 1.0L Active variant is available with manual gearbox only at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). According to a leaked document, the base Active variant will soon be offered with the 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. This decision is likely to be made considering the high demand of the Kushaq 1.0L Ambition automatic variant. The model lineup also includes Ambition and Style 1.0L automatic variants priced at Rs 14.19 lakh and Rs 15.79 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.
Price of the new Skoda Kushaq Active 1.0L automatic variant is likely to be around Rs 12 lakh. If it’s launched at this price point, it will be more affordable than most of its petrol-automatic rivals. Deliveries of the Kushaq 1.0L were commenced from 12th July across the nation. The more powerful Skoda Kushaq 1.5L has been started deliver from today (13th August 2021).
Talking about the entry-level Active trim, the model comes loaded with halogen headlamps with DRLs, black skid plates, black roof rails, body coloured door handles, LED taillamps, manual folding ORVMs, matte black finish on B and C-pillar, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, two spoke steering wheel, black fabric seats, manual air conditioning, 6 speaker sound system, front armrest with storage, all four power windows, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, remote locking, 12V power socket, rear parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake disc wiping, multi collision braking, ESC, electronic differential lock system and Isofix child seat mounts.
