Launched on June 28, the Skoda Kushaq mid-sized SUV has reportedly received over 2,000 bookings in India. The report claims that the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI automatic Ambition variant is the most popular among buyers. This variant accounts for 40 percent of total 1.0 TSI bookings.
Skoda dealer claims that the keen pricing and good value is attracting customers to the 1.0 TSI. The ‘Carbon-Steel’ colour is the most popular among buyers, followed by white and orange. Few dealers said that all variants of the Kushaq have received good interest including the 1.5 TSI.
Test drives of the Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI will commence at a later stage. Previous reports claim that the 1.5L version will reach dealerships in August 2021. Skoda dealers claim that around 25 percent of total orders are for the larger capacity engine. Demand for 1.5L version is expected to increase once test drives begin. Deliveries for the Skoda Kushaq will commence from the middle of July 2021.
Skoda dealers are providing customers a system generated ETA on booking confirmation. Once the customer selects the engine, variant and colour via dealership or the Skoda website, an estimated delivery date for the next available unit is reflected on the system.
Skoda Kushaq Price & Specs
The Kushaq is available in 3 trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style – in manual and automatic gearbox options. The Kushaq 1.0L range is available in the price bracket of Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 15.79 lakh, while the 1.5L version is offered in two variants – Style MT & Style AT – priced at Rs 16.19 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh respectively.
The Kushaq’s 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 113bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The 1.5L TSI engine churns out 147bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The Skoda Kushaq 1,0L MT and AT returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.88kmpl and 15.78kmpl respectively.
